Abstract The James William McClelland V.P.I. Tableware collection consists of one small plate, one medium sized plate, and a tea/coffee cup. The small plate is white with a maroon wreath in the center. In the middle of the wreath in yellow is a "VPI" overlapping letter logo with two crossing guns beneath it. John E. McDonald VPI Cadet Blouse

Abstract This cadet blouse is navy blue with black lining, and sleeves lined with off white. It is possibly made of wool and cotton. The blouse has a black stripe trim with plastic black buttons on the right, and hooks on the left. There are two gold pins on the collar of the blouse. One pin has "VPI" with guns crossing above. John S. White VPI Coat and Cape

Abstract The coat is navy blue with black lining, with red lining under the cape. There are gold diagonal stripes on the lower sleeves and six gold "VPI" buttons on the coat. Abstract The Joseph Lonsdale Hunter Mechanical Drawing Set collection is housed in a small wooden box with a key hole. On the top of the box is a small gold plate, likely meant to be engraved but never was. Inside the box is a blue velvet lined tray that holds eight mechanical drawing tools. Records of the Lee Literary Society

Abstract

This collection includes the written minutes and various papers of the Lee Literary Society from 1873 to 1926, and the minutes of the united Lee and Maury Literary Society during the 1928-29 session. The Lee Literary Society was formed from the split of the Virginia Literary Society in 1873 along with its counterpart the Maury Literary Society. LLS helped create the first student publication, the Gray Jacket, in 1875. The LLS folded in 1928.

Lewis A. Hall Banjo and Case

Abstract

This four-stringed tenor banjo and case previously belonged to Lewis A. Hall, a member of the Collegians band in the 1920s. Handwritten on the banjo head is "THE COLLEGIANS" in black at the top, "VPI" in red across the center, and "BLACKSBURG, VA." in black on the bottom. The peghead identifies the brandname "Bruno."
