William Addison Caldwell Collection
Papers associated with William Addison "Add" Caldwell (1856-1910) of Craig County, Virginia, first student enrolled at Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College (VAMC, later Virginia Tech). Includes a letter written by Caldwell in 1910; his 1875 VAMC report card; a Caldwell family photo portrait; Caldwell's obituary; and a Bible given to Caldwell by Mrs. William C. McKemey.
Samuel Edwin Carnahan Diploma
Samuel Edwin Carnahan (1884-1970) graduated from Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute (VPI) in 1907 with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. The collection contains his 1907 VPI diploma, signed by VPI president John McBryde and the Board of Visitors.
Christian Case Papers
This collection of materials about accusations in student hazing incident at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, subsequent disciplinary actions by the university's faculty, actions taken by the Board of Visitors, appeal by Judge George L. John K. Copenhaver Collection
John Kelly Copenhaver graduated from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1920. Collection includes leather bound commencement invitations and programs from 1919 and 1921, as well as a photograph from the reunion of the class of 1920. Pins and buttons from a VPI cadet uniform are also included.
