Biographical Note

Robert Snavely was a graduate of Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College in 1876. He later became the Principal of Roanoke City High School.

There is a Robert Snavely (1853-1932) buried in Kimberling Cemetery, Rural Retreat, Virginia. In the 1900 U. S. Census, he is listed as a school teacher living in Wytheville with his wife Elizabeth and daughters Gay and Marian. In the 1920 U. S. Census, he is listed as a principal of a school, living with his family in Black Lick.
