Biographical Note

Grover William Underhill was born was on September 15, 1888, in Wake County, North Carolina, to John W. Underhell and Octavia Strickland. He a Professor of Entomology from 1918 to 1954 in the Virginia Agricultural Experiment Station at Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He married Clara M. Swoope on November 6, 1937, in Blacksburg, Virginia. Underhill died March 24, 1970, and is buried alongside his wife in the Westview Cemetery in Blacksburg.
