Leven, Merwin, 1929-2007
Biographical Note
Merwin Leven (1929-2007) was born to Menne and CeCelia (Yoffe) Leven in White Plains, New York. He entered Virginia Polytechnic Institute (V.P.I.) as a freshman in the 1948-1949 school year. He was a private in Company D in the Corps of Cadets. During his time at V.P.I., he was a member of the Chemistry Club, the Lord Reading Club (a Hillel Unit for Jewish students), and the Yankee Club (an organization for students who were born above the Mason-Dixon Line).
Leven married Carol Ann Rubin in 1955, and they had three daughters: Danne Averill, Susan Leven, and Linda Hall.
