Biographical Note
Henry B. Redd was born on January 22nd, 1895 in Martinsville, Virginia. He left VPI during World War I, and served in France as a lieutenant in the artillery. He graduated from VPI in 1921 with a degree in agronomy. After graduation, he remained at VPI as a professor of agronomy until 1926 when he was made alumni secretary. During this period, and until 1932, Redd also coached freshman football. In 1932, he was promoted to the head coaching position. His first VPI team only lost one game in its first season. After the 1940 football season, Redd resigned his position as head coach and returned to working full time as alumni secretary. Redd died in 1960.

This collection contains the papers of Henry B. "Puss" Redd. The collection contains photographs, clippings, and VPI alumni material as well as a large amount of material related to Redd's position as a faculty member and a coach for the VPI football team.
VPI Class of 1917 Reunion Letters
The VPI Class of 1917 Reunion Letters contains two letters enclosed in an envelope dated February 20, 1931 announcing the dates of the 1917 class reunion. It also contains a questionnaire for the alumnus to fill out and return to the school.
