Biographical Note

John F. Moody enlisted with the 40th Regiment, Virginia Infantry in the summer of 1861 as a Sergeant. In September, he was promoted to lieutenant. Moody was wounded at Gaines' Mill, Virginia, on June 27, 1862. He died from his wounds on June 30, 1862.
