Biographical Note
Rev. Jacob Marshall Tise was born to Jacob and Sylvina (Reitzel) Tise on April 6, 1872, in Davidson County, North Carolina. Tise married Alice Sheffey Peterman (1888-1969) on September 19, 1906, in Floyd, Virginia, and they had three daughters: Virginia, Marguerite, and Jessie. Tise held several different jobs during his lifetime, including as a teacher, a clergyman, farmer, and a managerial role at the Floyd County Electric Company at Sower's Mill Dam in Floyd County, Virginia. Jacob Tise passed away on September 4, 1942, in Floyd County.
