Biographical Note
Founded nanimarquina rugs of Spain in 1987. Rug designer and entrepreneur in Barcelona, Spain. Marquina's company, "nanimarquina", has won several awards, including the Red Dot Design Award in 2003; the National Design Award and Premi Cambra a la Gestio Empresarial (Chamber Award of Design Management) in 2005; the Principe Felipe Award for Company Excellence in 2007; the Culture National Award of the Generalitat de Catalunya government in 2008; and the FIDEM Award for Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year in 2007.

The IAWA Small Collections was compiled from a variety of sources by Special Collections staff for use in reference and research. The collection consists primarily of biographical materials for women architects, architectural historians, and designers including curriculum vitas, firm brochures, exhibit notices, photographs, and publications. Drawings, sketches, course notes, correspondence, and other materials pertaining to architectural collections are also present.
