Biographical Note

Rodger Streitmatter is a Professor Emeritus at the School of Communication at American University in Washington, D.C. A cultural historican, he explores how the media influences the public. He has written over nine books and specializes in History of alternative media; sex and the media; gay and lesbian journalism; journalism history; and African American women journalists.
