Biographical Note
William Moseley Radford (1840-1862) was the second son of John Blair Radford and Elizabeth Campbell Taylor, born on August 12, 1840. He went to private school for his education, eventually graduating with a bachelor of arts from the University of Virginia in 1857. He helped organize the Pulaski Boys, the 24th Virginia Regiment of Volunteers in 1861. He served under Brigadier General Jubal A. Early as First Lieutenant and eventually second in command of the unit. He died at the battle of Williamsburg at the age of 21 and is buried in the family cemetery in Radford.
