Hosford, Benjamin F., ca. 1835-1864

Biographical Note

During the American Civil War, Benjamin F. Hosford served as a private of Company F of the 2nd Connecticut Infantry Regiment in the Union Army in 1861. At the age of 29, he was killed in action while the captain of Company D of the 2nd Connecticut Heavy Artillery Regiment at the Battle of Cedar Creek on October 19, 1864, at the age of 29. He is buried in Forest View Cemetery, Winsted, Connecticut.

Abstract The Benjamin F. Hosford Letter is from Hosford to his mother on July 14, [1861], while stationed in Falls Church, Virginia, during the American Civil War.
