Biographical Note

James Dallas Dishman (1926-2021) was the son of James Samuel and Betty Gigsby Dishman. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and earned a degree in accounting from the University of Richmond after the war. He retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 40 years of service. He then operated a tax consulting business for 30 years. He married Joan Bennett, and they had several children. After Joan's death, Dishman married Virginia "Ginny" Hahn.

Abstract

This collection contains a genealogy chart for the Dishman family of King George and Westmoreland counties, Virginia, originating in France (as Duchemin). The chart lists the descendants of Samuel Dishman, who immigrated to the American Colonies from France sometime before 1693. The chart was compiled by James Dallas Dishman (1926-2021) of Lynchburg, Virginia.
