Biographical Note

Wendy Bertrand is a registered architect, rug weaver, and author from California. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor of architecture in 1971 and obtained a master of architecture in 1972. She studied at the École des Beaux Arts in France from 1964–65. She has designed private residential structures and large-scale projects for federal agencies, including the US Navy and the US Forest Service.

This collection documents her personal and professional activism and activities between 1954-2012, including her architectural studies, organizational activities, family life, travel, professional writing, textile projects, and career with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Forest Service.
