Born 1917. An architect from Lafayette, California, Stan graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1939. She designed her first home in 1948 and retired in 1998. She worked largely for contractors, focusing on residential housing, subdivisions, and single-family dwellings. Materials include a memorial program, a short biography, and two biographical letters.

Abstract

The IAWA Small Collections was compiled from a variety of sources by Special Collections staff for use in reference and research. The collection consists primarily of biographical materials for women architects, architectural historians, and designers including curriculum vitas, firm brochures, exhibit notices, photographs, and publications. Drawings, sketches, course notes, correspondence, and other materials pertaining to architectural collections are also present.

Abstract

This collection documents the architect Sally Waldner Bould Stan. She lived from 1917 to 2008, spending most of her life in Lafayette, California. Over the course of her life, Sally designed around 2000 homes as well as numerous notable commercial projects before retiring in 1998. Her collection is comprised of biographical notes as well as drawings for 55 of her professional projects. One standard and five oversized folders.
