The collection contains a VPI honor list for 1897-1898, a 1948 Chi Epsilon dinner program, a 1962 list of living alumni who attended VAMC prior to 1900, and two artifacts. While Begg is not on the honor roll, future VPI president Julian A. Burress is listed as a "proficient" senior and as graduating with a Bachelors of Science with honors. Chi Epsilon is the United States National Civil Engineering undergraduate honor society. The 1948 program has a menu for the 25^th anniversary banquet (March 8, 1948), as well as a list of old and new members. The verso side contains a note that the dinner also celebrates "Colonel R.B.H. Begg's 35^th anniversary as Head of the Civil Engineering Department at V.P.I." The invitation is written to "The 'Colonel.'" The list of alumni contains handwritten marginalia and changes. The artifacts include a 1926 silver tray and 1933 trophy.
