Scope and Content
This collection consists of materials related to a study on whistleblowing performed by Professor Joyce Rothschild, at Virginia Tech, and Associate Professor Terance D. Miethe, at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The study took place in the early 1990s and included employees from institutions all over the United States of America.
A large portion of the collection is surveys used by the researchers to collect data, including both mail-in forms and records of telephone interviews. The collection also contains the statistical results of this data, as well as drafts of Rothschild and Miethe's report "Whistleblowing as Resistance in Modern Work Organizations: The Politics of Revealing Organizational Deception and Abuse."
There are also research materials, project paperwork, correspondence, notes, and a large number of call logs.

The collection is open for research.
One survey included legal correspondence and health records; two other surveys included attachments with names and specifics of individuals' actions. The anonymous surveys have been left in the collection, but legal correspondence, health records, and other attachments for these three surveys have been removed.
