Scope and Content

From the Collection:

The College of Education History Records primarily consist of oral history interviews regarding the history of the College of Education at Virginia Tech. Interviews were conducted in November and December of 1989 by the students of Patrick Carlton, Associate Professor of Education at VT. Interviewees were faculty members of the College of Education, including Karl T. Hereford, who was the first dean of the College of Education, and Fred J. Brieve, Duncan Lyle Kinnear, Richard L. Lynch, Carl McDaniels, and Wayne H. Worner. Materials consist of cassette tapes and transcripts of interviews, interview notes, and. correspondence (1970-1972). The collection also includes the report "Developmental Goals and Priorities of the College of Education 1972-1976" and reports by some of the student interviewers about their interviews.
