The Notes on Attempts to Oust President Paul B. Barringer Collection contains 15 page of typewritten notes regarding the investigation of Barringer in 1910, as well as the original handwritten version of those notes. Certain members of the Board of Visitors and Alumni Association had become convinced that Barringer was leading VPI to ruin. Their complaints included the abolition of university-wide prayers and rge frequent dances held on campus. All charges were eventually dismissed.
