This collection contains a single letter, from hospital steward George W. Emmons to Mrs. Louisa Traylor during the American Civil War. The letter is dated from White Oak Hospital, August 2, 1863, and concerns money belonging to Mr. Dodd that Emmons intends to send Louisa Traylor. In apologizing for an oversight, Emmons briefly touches upon the duties of a hospital steward.
