Biographical Note

Mary Brown Channel, United States, 1932-1981. After graduating from Randolph-Macon Woman's College in 1925, Channel earned her degree in Architecture from Cornell University in 1933. Mary Brown Channel was the first woman registered architect in the state of Virginia. She became known for her residential and church designs in the tidewater area of Virginia.
