Biographical Note

Eleanore Pettersen, FAIA, United States, 1916-2003, was one of the first women licensed as an architect in the state of New Jersey in 1950, the first woman in New Jersey to open her own architectural office (1952), and the first woman president of the New Jersey State Board of Architects. Pettersen served as an apprentice to Frank Lloyd Wright and attended Cooper Union for Advancement of Science and Art in New York City (1937-1941).
