Scope and Content
This collection contains the recipe book of Katherine G. Cary entitled "Recipes: My Friends’ and My Own," circa 1900. The front free endpaper of the book is signed by Katherine G. Cary. Mrs. Cary has penned some 107 recipes, mostly unattributed but one or two by friends or relations. Recipes include soups (Watercress Soup and Chestnut Soup), breads, fish and poultry (Lobster Newburg, Jellied Chicken, and partridge), salad dressing, sauces, pickles, and more.
