The collection contains a color sketch of Private James Maloney, a soldier in the 116th New York Infantry Regiment of the United States Army during the American Civil War.

The collection contains eight different black and white prints depicting common coal mining scenes in Bluefield, West Virginia, created by native artist Olin P. Keyes in 1970.

This collection contains a black and white linocut created by Conway Smith, c.1930. It depicts the Jackson Ferry Shot Tower in Wythe County, Virginia.

The collection consists of sketches of punishments for soldiers, presumed to be the work of Eugene B. Hovey.

The IAWA Small Collections was compiled from a variety of sources by Special Collections staff for use in reference and research. The collection consists primarily of biographical materials for women architects, architectural historians, and designers including curriculum vitas, firm brochures, exhibit notices, photographs, and publications. Drawings, sketches, course notes, correspondence, and other materials pertaining to architectural collections are also present.
