Abstract

This collection contains a letter written by physician Con. [Constantine] C. Badger at Nashua, [New Hampshire], to his mother regarding his intention to enlist in the 6th New Hampshire Infantry as a nurse, apparently in hopes of later obtaining a position as a steward or surgeon, during the American Civil War.

Abstract

The Adolph Samuel Bair Photographs were taken on the campus of the Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute (VPI) during the 1920s. The photographs depict Bair, the campus, and the VPI Corps of Cadets. Bair (1902-1988) graduated from VPI in 1924.

This collection contains the letters of the Baldwin family of Tazewell County, Virginia. The collection consists largely of American Civil War-era letters of Captain Denison B. Baldwin, an officer in the 51st Virginia Infantry Regiment and the 23rd Virginia Infantry Battalion, to his wife Sallie Barnes Baldwin.

Abstract This collection comprises one notebook of an incomplete, first person narrative about Martha Lee Baron Stoddard and May Baldwin Stoddard of Boston, Massachusetts. The narrative is written after 1893 by the Stoddards' aunt Mattie to their cousins, Albert and Harry Baldwin.
