Frederick Wrede Diary
This collection contains a diary written by Frederick Wrede, who served in the Union Army at the beginning of the American Civil War. The first eighteen pages of the diary were written while Wrede was still a soldier. The rest of the diary documents Wrede's transition back to civilian life.
David Dobie Diary
This collection contains a diary written by Captain David Dobie (1840-1900), an officer in the Union Army. The diary primarily discusses life in camp, marches, skirmishes with the Confederate Army, and other aspects of military life during the American Civil War.
Charles Henry Howe Collection
This collection contains a letter with envelope from Charles Henry Howe to his parents on November 22, 1862. The letter updates his parents on his condition, informs them of his movements, and discusses supply requests. This collection also contains five souvenirs collected by Howe in White Sulphur Springs and identified in the letter.

[Acting Commissary of Subsistence], in Wytheville, Virginia, to Captain Isaac Shelby in Abingdon asking for advice about an order that required Williams to send four soldiers elsewhere. Williams notes that the order would take "four of my most indispensable men and if persisted in will paralyze my operations".
