Multicultural Diversity Oral History Collection
Blacksburg Oral History Project Records
Oral history project conducted by the University Libraries at Virginia Tech with residents of Blacksburg about the town's history. Collection consists of recorded interviews with eight citizens of in Blacksburg, Virginia. Transcripts for five of these interviews are currently available.
Appalachian Quilt Project Cassette Tapes
Oral history project conducted by Susan Davis, who was a graduate student in the Department of Clothing, Textiles, and Related Arts at Virginia Tech. Collection consists of recorded interviews with forty-three quilt makers in Floyd and Washington counties, Virginia, about their lives and their experiences with quilt making. Transcripts for this collection are available.
Crown Cotton Mills [Dalton, Georgia] Oral History Tapes
The collection contains oral history tapes of employees at the Crown Cotton Mills in Dalton, a textile town in the Appalachian Valley of northwest Georgia. Most of mill hands interviewed worked for Crown from the 1920s through 1960s.
Charles Sears Oral History Interview
Audiocassette tape contains an oral history interview with Virginia Tech Professor Charles Sears, conducted by John Straw, University Archivist. Sears discusses the history of the Virginia Tech Geology Department (today the Department of Geosciences), where he served as a professor and founded the Virginia Tech Seismological Observatory.
Talking About Work Oral History Interview Project,
Oral history interviews conducted by students of Dr. Emily Satterwhite's HUM 2504 Introduction to American Studies class with interviewees who work on or near the Virginia Tech campus. Interviews explore the particular jobs of the interviewees and the issues related to working for these interviewees. The collection also contains annotated bibliographies and reflections papers created by students about their interview experience. There are images of some of the interviewees.
Newport and Clover Hollow, Giles County History Collection,
The Newport and Clover Hollow, Giles County History collection contains oral history interviews, transcripts, notes, newspaper clippings, historic district survey forms, a video tape, and a geological survey map related to the creation of the Greater Newport Rural Historic District. The collection dates from 1973 to 2009, although it does include a typed copy of a 1904 Giles County will.

Virginia Tech LGBTQ Oral History Collection
This collection consists of oral history interviews with influential members of the LGBTQ community at Virginia Tech, both past and present. Interviews were conducted by Tamara Kennelly, University Archivist, David Cline, Assistant Professor of History and Director of the Graduate Certificate in Public History, and students of Professor David Cline's Oral History class.
College of Education History Records
The College of Education History Records primarily consist of oral history interviews regarding the history of the College of Education at Virginia Tech. Interviews were conducted in November and December of 1989 by the students of Patrick Carlton, Associate Professor of Education at Virginia Tech. The interviewees were faculty at the College of Education.
