Abstract

Born in Bulgaria, emigrated to France and then to the U.S. before coming to Blacksburg, Virginia, where she both practiced architecture and taught at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She is a professor emerita of Architecture and Urban Studies at Virginia Tech. She founded the International Archive of Women in Architecture and chaired its Board of Advisors from 1985-1993. Her papers include curriculum vitae, correspondence, 43 architectural drawings of her residence in Blacksburg, "A Bibliographical Guide to Their Work: Soviet Women Architects, 1917-1937" written by her in 1989, papers written during 1979 to 1990, and collected materials about women in architecture.
