Abstract

Letter from Catlett Conway to Willie, addressing the plans for Mary Wallace’s marriage to a Mr. Hayden and their subsequent travels to sightsee and visit family; speculating on his living alone, declining health, and hopes to see great Confederate generals following death; wishing to be able to read more wartime stories and that he could spend more time with his family as he ages; and commenting on the amount of rain that Richmond has had. Adds that he wrote Charlie Conway’s war record and passed it on to family, who wish to publish it in a Confederate paper.
