This collection consists of a single daybook maintained by the proprietor of an unidentified mid 19th-century general mercantile store, likely conducting business in Grafton County, New Hampshire. While most of the sales are to individual customers, a number are to "Mn. [Maine?] Lumber Company" and several camps (probably logging camps). The entries note sales of foodstuffs, tobacco, and hardware items. Inserted in the daybook is a letter addressed to Ralph C. Stephenson of Kittery, Maine, from G. Wm. Pickering of Bangor, regarding stock shares. The letter seems to have no direct connection to the daybook.
