Biographical / Historical

Henry Hungerford, son of James and Elizabeth Landrum Hungerford, was born at Montross (Westmoreland County), Virginia, on November 15, 1788. The younger Hungerford served as a major in the War of 1812. He married Amelia Spence (1794-1831), and the couple had six children. Following Amelia's death, Hungerford married Mary Ann Spence (1811-1850) in 1834; together they had six children.
