The collection consists of a claim for damages by John Filtzmoyer dated April 14, 1865. Filtzmoyer of Shenandoah County, Va., charges the Confederate Government $685.50 for his damaged and lost property due to White's Battalion of Virginia Cavalry and the 12th Regiment of Virginia Cavalry camping on his property during Sheridan's Valley Campaign.
