Scope and Content
The collection contains condolence letters written to Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Pickett about the death of their son Chester in 1914. It also contains a condolence letter written to Mrs. Pickett about the death of someone else in the family. The collection also contains calling cards of "C. H. Pickett."

Biographical Note
Chester H. Pickett was born in Ohio in 1893. He died in Bluefield, West Virginia in 1914. His parents were William Franklin Pickett (1858-1925) and Mary Emma Tate Pickett (1865-1949). Besides Chester, William and Mary had four other children.
