Scope and Content

This letter is written by S. V. Bosserman, a civilin living in the Confederate States of America during the American Civil War, to a Miss A. H. Bosserman. Bosserman asks is Miss Bosserman had heard that General "Stonewall" Jackson had been killed and the three of the Bailey boys had been wounded. Bosserman uses the rest of the letter to discuss their daily life and what had happened to them since their last letter to Miss Bosserman.

S. V. Bosserman might be Sarah Virginia Bosserman of Augusta County, Virginia. Sarah Bosserman was born December 19, 1842 and lived until August 30, 1911.

Bosserman asks if Miss Bosserman had heard that General "Stonewall" Jackson had been killed, and then goes on from there to write about what was going on in the area where Bosserman was living.
