Scope and Content
The G.M. Davis Scrapbook consists of labeled photographs, football game tickets, Corps of Cadets documents, and newspaper cut-outs from 1923-1928 documenting George Maslin Davis's experience as a Mechanical Engineering student and a member of the Corps of Cadets at Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute (now Virginia Tech).

Biographical / Historical
George Maslin "G.M." Davis was born in Virginia on July 7, 1907. His father was George Maslin Davis Sr., who attended North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts, and was an engineer in Roanoke, VA. G.M. went to Roanoke High School and enrolled in Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute (now Virginia Tech) in 1924 as a Mechanical Engineering student. He was greatly involved in campus organizations, such as Rifle Club president and team manager and Photographic Editor for the "1928 Bugle." Davis graduated from VPI in 1928 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. G.M. Davis passed away on June 10, 1952 at age 44.

Arrangement
This scrapbook is mostly arranged in chronological order from 1923-1928, and this scrapbook has been left in its original order.
Source of Acquisition
The G.M. Davis Scrapbook was transferred to Special Collections and University Archives in 2022.
