Biographical / Historical

The Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (VTCSOM) is a medical school and research institute created through a public-private partnership between Virginia Tech and Carilion Clinic in 2007. The Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine was officially established in Roanoke, Virginia, in 2010 and became an official college of Virginia Tech in 2018. VTCSOM works to educate, prepare, and support their students through medical innovation and research, inclusive learning, and transdisciplinary collaboration. The Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine promotes patient-centered care, compassion, and the continuous improvement of healthcare for all of humanity.
