In 1977, Spear forms the modernist architecture firm Arquitectonica in Miami, Fl with Bernardo Fort-Brescia. The firm has expanded to New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Manila, Lima, Buenos Aires, and San Paulo. A fellow of The American Institute of Archiects, she is the winner of the AIA Silver Medal and the Rome Prize in Architecture and is a member of the Interior Design Hall of Fame.
