Scope and Content From the Collection: This collection contains a handwritten manuscript bond saying that John Montgomery will pay thirty pounds to George Grundy, written during October 1781. George Grundy was a congressman and senator from Tennessee, who became the thirteenth United States Attorney General. There are two witness signatures on the document, by Joseph Crockett and Issac Taylor. Col. Joseph Crockett was a soldier that served in the Continetal Army in 1774.
