Scope and Content From the Collection: This collection consists of a single letter written by Ed. [Edward] H. Rees, of Company E, 15th Illinois Cavalry during the American Civil War. Written to "Dear Cal" from Jefferson Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, the letter is dated September 9, 1863. Rees writes of the advantages of Memphis as a place of quarantine.
