Scope and Content From the Collection: This collection consists of a single leaf from a manuscript copy of the Qur'an, the book of Islam. The text, in Arabic, commences with a fragment of verse 16 of Surat-al-Fath, "The Victory" (Sura 48); continues with the the entirety of versus 17-29; and ends with the entirety of verses 1-2 (and a fragment of verse 3) of Surat-al-Hujarat, "The Dwellings" (Sura 49). The leaf is said to date from the late 18th or early 19th century and to have originated possibly from the Kashmir region....
