The collection includes the original diary, records, and family genealogy of Governor James Hoge Tyler (1846-1925) of Pulaski County, Virginia, as well as new transcription with genealogy in print and a CD which incorporates all materials.

The Tyler-Wilson Papers consist largely of correspondence of Virginia Governor James Hoge Tyler's family and his daughter Lily Tyler Wilson's family. Also includes a 1925 European travel diary maintained by Nancy E. Lukens.
William Vinson Letter
The collection contains a letter from Virginia House of Delegates member William Vinson (1819=1883) to his family at home in Wayne County, (West) Virginia, discussing his attempts in the general assembly to secure roads and mail routes, his children's education, health and weather conditions in Richmond, and winning local lotteries.
Virginia Republican Party Flyer
The Virginia Republican Party Flyer lists the African American Republican candidates for Virginia elected offices in 1921 and includes Maggie L. Walker, the first American female bank president, as the candidate for Superintendent of Public Instruction and John Mitchell, Jr., the editor of the Richmond Planet, as the candidate for Governor.
William C. Wampler Congressional Papers
William C. Wampler, Sr. (1926-2012) was a U.S. Congressman from Virginia's 9th District in the 1950s through 1980s. His papers primarily document his tenure in the House of Representatives during the 1970s and 1980s, including correspondence with constituents, committees, and government departments, legislative files, public relations and campaign materials, and photographs.
Wilson Centennial Exhibit Materials
This collection contains materials exhibited by Virginia Tech's Newman Library in 1956 to commemorate the centennial of the birth of President Woodrow Wilson.
