Abstract This collection consists of a press, and two plates depicting the V.P.I. seal. The press is made of metal and has been painted black. The press consists of the body and the lever that presses the seal into desired page. On both sides of the press is a star design. The center of the star is a red circle, while the points are gold. Three gold lines come of off both sides of the star. There is a gold stripe that goes around the base of the press. Stamped on the bottom of the press...

The Virginia Republican Party Flyer lists the African American Republican candidates for Virginia elected offices in 1921 and includes Maggie L. Walker, the first American female bank president, as the candidate for Superintendent of Public Instruction and John Mitchell, Jr., the editor of the Richmond Planet, as the candidate for Governor.

Abstract

The Virginia Tax Receipt includes a pre-printed tax receipt for Peter Logan, dated 1859, from Chesterfield, Virginia. There is a handwritten tax on one free person of color. Almost all printed categories except "Clock" and "Furniture" have been crossed out.

Abstract The Virginia Tech Academic Regalia collection includes: a gown, hat, and hood. The hat is black with a yellow tassel. On the inside of the hat it reads "Oak Hall Cap and Gown Co. Roanoke, Virginia, 7 5/8 in front of cap." The condition is good, some discoloration on inside. The gown is black and made of cotton. There are black velvet stripes on either side of the opening. There are also three black velvet stripes on each sleeve, and velvet stripes that come to a point...
