This collections contains publications and advertisements from companies related to restaurant equipment, food service, and industry dating from the 1920s-1950s. This include building materials, upholstery, and commercial appliances such as soda fountains.

The Alice Ross Ephemera Collection includes more than 2,000 pieces of ephemera related to food & culinary history, advertising/marketing, food production, agriculture, holidays and celebrations, and domestic culture, dating from the mid-19th to the mid/late 20th century.

This collection contains a household and farming ledger owned by a Shropshire, England family, dating 1832-1867. Two articles and a letter report the discovery of coal in Shropshire. The ledger also contains financial records, notes on wine making and farming, instructions for care of cattle and pest control, and various receipes and remedies.

This collection consists of a handwritten soda recipe book. Recipes include sundaes, punches, lemonades, egg cream drinks, and more.

Although the emphasis in on Virginia state and local agencies, materials may also originate from around the United States.

The collection contains a handwritten copy of 1848 patent for a ventilating rocking butter churn.

This collection contains a group of worksheets related to starting and maintaining a Victory garden. The worksheets were created by Beech-Nut Packing Company of Canajoharie, NY, and likely date from around 1943-1945.

This collection contains the final and draft versions of a 1988 report from the Virginia Congress on Hunger detailing the extent of hunger and poverty in the Commonwealth of Virginia, a news release about the report, and the 1985 report about hunger and poverty.

The World War II Sugar Rationing Pamphlets include four pamphlets published during the height of food rationing in the United States during the Second World War. The pamphlets promote rationing of sugar at the homefront and provide recipes that can be made using a substitute for sugar.

The Youngstown Kitchen Model Kits contains two set of model kitchens, c.1945, and an advertisement for Youngstown Kitchens by Mullins" from 1949.
