Abbye A. Gorin Architectural Collection

Abstract Abbye A. Gorin is an architectural researcher and writer of Metairie, Louisiana. Her collection contains a six-minute film entitled "The Rivergate, 1968-1995," produced by Barbara Coleman and written by Gorin and Betty Moss. The film was created as a tribute to the building and as a protest to its demolition. Scope and Contents Hall earned a B.A. from Wellesley College in 1927, B.S. from MIT in 1930, Ph.D. from Radcliffe 1954. She was a long-time member of the North Carolina Chapter of the AIA, and served as its archivist. This collection contains notes and essay by an English girl named Edith F. Hawkshaw. Contents include commentary and descriptions of the eras and development of English architecture, particularly the rise of Gothic architecture.
