The Thomas W. The majority of the collection dates from 1860 to 1920.

The transcripts detail interviews with Washington County residents Evelyn Campbell, Emma Josephine Poland Surber, and Nancy Johnson. The interviewees discuss their childhood activities, childhood fashion, schooling, and what their household was like in southwest Virginia.
