Abstract

This collection includes research notes, manuscripts, typescript drafts, working copies and galley proofs for books and articles written by Virginia Tech's Alumni Distinguished Professor of History James I. Robertson Jr., 1982-2001. Large collection of notes, papers, and correspondence relateing to Virginia Civil War counties and units. Also contains a small set of general materials which includes items related to the preservation of lands adjacent to Manassas National Battlefield Park.

A map of Rosedale, West Virginia, showing the extent of the town's incorporated borders at the time the map was created, 1915. The map is also stamped with the words "Official Map 1930," seeming to indicate that little had changed and the map was still accurate at the later date. Abstract This collection contains the diary of Margaret Selden Kennedy Ross (1902-1982) of Warrenton, Virginia. The diary dated February-September 1915 depicts the daily life of a young girl in the early 20th century. Ross mostly talks about school, teachers, and classmates, with whom she spent most of her time. Her great-grandfather was Maryland Senator Anthony Kennedy, and her grandmother was Mary Selden Kennedy, author of the book Seldons of Virginia and Allied...

E. Maria Roth Architectural Collection

The E. Maria Roth Architectural Collection contains the personal papers, professional papers, and project files of a landscape architect working largely in New Jersey, New York, and Virginia. School work from Cooper Union and Rutgers University is included, along with a school notebook from 1940 made during the Hitler era in Germany. Projects largely conform to the following categories: schools, residences/neighborhoods, public and recreation areas, and furniture/structural designs.
