Marion S. Battle Papers,
The Marion S. Battle Papers document Battle's experiences in the United States Army during the First World War and afterwards in Czechoslovakia. Items include a report about the Czechoslovak Legion and Battle's roll in the U.S. Army Transportation Service operation to provide transport back to Czechoslovakia; photographs depicting members of the Legion and their trip on the USAT America; and photocopies of Battle's U.S. Army records.

This collection contains five American politcal buttons from the first half of the 20th century, primarily during World War I. The collection contains a button from the Liberty Loan of 1917, a button from the United War Work Campaign (1918), a button from the Fourth Liberty Loan (1918), a button from the Virginia Council of Defense (ca. 1917-1918), and a U. S. Senate campaign button supporting Harry Byrd (1940).
Turner Family Papers
The Turner Family Papers consists of multiple sets of correspondence to members of generations of the extended Turner family written between 1830 and 1944. The bulk of the collection is letters between Lexie Fox and his wife, Bessie, written during World War I.
Joseph F. Ware Collection
The collection contains 102 letters from Joseph F. Ware to his wife, Susie, in Blacksburg, Virginia, while he was serving overseas during and after World War I. The other significant portion of this collection contains nearly 200 photographs.
