Herbert J. Thomas Papers
Born in Columbus, Ohio, moved to South Charleston, West Virginia in 1925. Attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute from 1937-1941. Awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor and Purple Heart during World War II. Collection includes photographs, clippings, citations, and papers collected by Lt. Col. John Coulter for his book on the six Medal of Honor winners who were students from Virginia Tech.
Vaiden A. Thornton Collection
The collection contains account books, dairy building blueprints designed by Virginia Polytechnic Institute, and various work-related papers created between 1930 and 1953. A few of the items are undated. Thornton ran a dairy and ice operation in Stony Creek, Virginia, in addition to his job as an insurance company medical examiner.
William Logan Threlkeld Papers
This collection contains the papers of William Logan Threlkeld, professor of zoology and biology at Virginia Polytechnic Institute (1929-1958), including biographical materials, personal and professional correspondence, research files, and printed materials.
William Townes Letters
Thirteen letters with their envelopes from VAMC student William Townes to family members L. W. Wimbish and Mrs. L. W. Wimbish in Boydton, Mecklenburg County, Virginia over the period March 15, 1875 to November 2, 1875. Letters concern his expenses and need for funds and his wish for news of home. Also mentioned are boarding in town, opinions of Blacksburg, a masque ball, constant drilling, fellow cadets, and farm matters.
Clarence Trent Papers
The collection comprises the papers of Clarence E. Trent, having to do with his involvement in American Society of Mechanical Enginners, the Lutheran Campus Ministry at Virginia Polytechnic Institute (VPI), and his engineering education.

The Michael Two Horses Collection contains a combination of academic papers, personal papers and research, drawings, correspondence, thesis and dissertation materials, and some artifacts from Two Horses' career as a student, scholar, and activist.
