Thomas Dickerson Ledger
This ledger includes notes and business transactions of the plantation owner Thomas Dickerson (also Dickenson and Dickinson), of Nottoway County, Virginia. The plantations grew tobacco, wheat, and corn. Entries include sale of these goods, purchase of others, purchase of medical services for enslaved persons, and cash loans.

This collection contains the papers of the Dickinson family of Smyth County, Virginia, consisting of letters from U. S. Army officer Ralph Dickinson and the medical account books and diploma of Dr. S. W. Dickinson.

Joseph G. Dill Letter to Daniel C. E. Brady
The collection consists of a letter from Joseph G. Dill to Daniel C. E. Brady, written from Richmond, Virginia, on May 30, 1862. Dill writes Brady on a variety of topics including recent war news, the challenges of sending mail through conflict zones, a recent fishing party, the warther, and the price of goods.
Dillard-Larkin Family Papers
This collection contains correspondence to and from the Dillard, Larkin, Turner, Christian, and Wallace families. The collection also includes financial documents and records, speeches, photographs, and personal papers from the Dillard and Larkin families. Materials range from approximately 1811 through 1955.

Oral history interviews (3 on 3 cassette tapes) conducted by artist Martha Dillard in connection with Watershed, an exhibition of Dillard's paintings of the Ellett Valley in Montgomery County, Virginia. Interviewees include T. Cartmel and Liz Brown, Anna Laura Tribble, and Josie Shotts about the valley of the North Fork of the Roanoke River. Collection also includes postcards and flyers relating to the exhibition. Interviews untranscribed, notes available.
