Historical Photograph Collection (List of Subjects)
The photograph collection at Special Collections and University Archives consists primarily of historical photographs of Virginia Tech, dating back to the 1890s. The collection is also home to historic images of Blacksburg, Montgomery County, the New River Valley, and Southwest Virginia in general. A photograph collection of faculty and staff from the university is maintained separately.
S. P. Hite Company Daybook
This collection contains a daybook maintained by S. P. Hite Company, a manufacturer and distributor of patent medicines operating in Roanoke, Virginia, during the early 20th century.
William R. Hite, Jr., Scrapbook
This collection contains the scrapbook of William R. "Billy" Hite, Jr., when he was a senior at Varina High School in Richmond, Virginia. Hite played football at Varina and Virginia Tech, from which he earned a bachelor's and PhD in education in 1985 and 1998, respectively. He later became a principal and superintedent throughout the Mid-Atlantic United States.

The collection consists of a broadside containing town regulations for the housing of hogs or pigs within town limits for the Town of Blacksburg, Virginia.

Levi Holbrook Letter
This collection contains a letter from Levi Holbrook (1785-1872), a teacher and headmaster in Danville, Virginia, to his son Levi Holbrook, Jr., in Easthampton, Massachusetts. The letter dated July 2, 1851, discusses the health of Levi Holbrook and provides a variety of updates from Danville, including discussion about a man named Dr. Saunders murdering a man named A. S. Terry (or Jerry?) after a disagreement.

The Roy Jay Holden Papers contain field notes, charts and maps, and geological surveys and research results, covering the history of mineralogy and geology, especially in Virginia.
